West Perth is an inner suburb of Perth located approximately 1km from the central business district.

One of West Perth’s major landmarks are the West Australian Parliament Buildings on Harvest Terrace. The foundation stone was laid on 31 July 1902, and it was opened for the first parliamentary sitting in 1904. West Perth is part of the city’s inner mixed zone, and is predominantly home to commercial office buildings which have displaced the earlier residential buildings. The area houses a large number of mining companies, consultants, and medical specialists.

Most retail businesses in the area are focused on servicing the office population, and so are closed on weekends. Notable exceptions are the Harbourtown factory outlet complex located near the eastern edge of the suburb, and the City West complex. The City West site was formerly home to the Perth Metropolitan Markets from 1929 to 1989. West Perth is also home to many cafes, bistros and a number of fine dining restaurants.
