North Perth is located in the City of Vincent and a suburb of Perth, Western Australia. It has a population of 8,544 according to the 2011 census and is just 3km outside the Perth CBD.

History

The area was initially inhabited by the First Peoples. The first European landholder was Thomas Farmer, whose heirs later sold the land. North Perth was a popular place to live in and rapidly grew in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The suburb still features many of the historic brick houses built during that time.

North Perth is a vibrant suburb very close to the inner city. It has a large number of reserves and parks, with Beatty Park being the largest one. This park features a leisure centre with an Olympic-size swimming pool.

Along Charles Street, one can find a wide array of shops, restaurants and bars. North Perth is also home to multiple schools, churches and hotels.
