Mundijong is a suburb of Perth in Western Australia. It lies about 40km south of its central business district and has a population of 1,500 people.

History

Mundijong once went by the name of Jarrahdale Junction. That’s because it was the location of a junction for the railway line Rockingham-Jarrahdale. The junction was the heart of the settlement, around which the small town developed. The construction of a new timber depot and a big planing mill opened up new opportunities. The town’s name changed to Mundijong in 1897.

Mundijong gives off a small country town atmosphere. It is nestled between the sea and the mountains. There is a lot of farmland surrounding the area and it is a popular place for families to live in. The West Mundijong Industrial Estate is also a major source of employment in the area.
