Boyup Brook is a rural town in Western Australia about 270km south-east of Perth. It offers easy access to the South Western and Albany Highways and is home to just over 500 people.
History
Boyup Brook derived its name from a nearby pool called Booyup, which can mean “place of big stones” as well as “place of big smoke”.
The town dates back to 1900 when its first school opened. Nine years later a railway connection between Boyup Brook and Donnybrook followed. Shortly afterwards the Agricultural Hall was established and by 1936 Boyup Brook had its own town hall.

There is always something to do in Boyup Brook. Every February the town hosts a country music festival. Culture lovers can visit the Boyup Brook District Pioneers’ Museum or discover the art of Sandy Chambers. You can find his sculptures scattered across various parts of town.
