FAQs

  • Do you have a Medicare dental benefit scheme for children?

Yes, we do have a Medicare dental benefit scheme for children.

  • How often should I see a dentist?

Studies show that the average patient should see a dentist every 6 months. This is because it will allow you to prevent dental disease and pain or at least catch it early. This allows less invasive treatment, better outcome, and cheaper treatment.

  • Why do I need to have a professional clean every 6 months?

After 6 months, most patients will have a build-up of "tartar/calculus" (hardened bacteria). This starts under your gums and then spills out into visible areas. This can only be adequately removed by a dental professional. We like to show every patient (with a camera) what this looks like before and after the professional cleaning.

  • When should I have braces?

There is no hard and fast rule. In some cases, early intervention will save you money because it will reduce the need for braces and or surgery in the future. In many cases, early intervention is a waste of money and an excuse for dentists to perform additional work. We pride ourselves on being honest and providing rational advice, so there is no charge for an initial consultation for orthodontic cases and certainly no obligations or pressure.

  • What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is one brand of "sequential overlay aligners". Aligners are thin clear plastic (mouth guard like) appliances which are worn over your teeth. On any given tooth, it can fit tighter on one side of the tooth & more loosely on the other, thereby tipping a tooth towards the loose side. Aligners are great because they are not visible as compared to the standard braces.
