The small township of Bulla is located next in the Deep Creek Valley 29km north-west of the central business district of Melbourne. The area is situated within the local government area of the City Of Hume. The creek runs through the township and there is a population of around 650 people.

History

The first European settler in the township was a chief constable of Melbourne who arrived there in 1843. The village was originally surveyed in 1851 with a brickworks and pottery. These were constructed to take advantage of the kaolinite deposits in the area.

Several churches and other public structures were built to serve the inhabitants. 2 of these churches are now listed buildings along with other structures in the area including the Bulla Bridge.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Along with a sports centre, the township has a large reserve that is home to the Tullamarine Live Steam Society. On the 2 monthly open days, there is also a monthly market and train rides.

Transport links are provided by bus which connects with the city of Melbourne and the railway station at Sunbury.
