We always prefer press ready PDF files, however we do accept other file types as long as the artwork is correctly prepared for commercial printing. We accept the following file types: Illustrator files (.ai), Photoshop files (.psd), InDesign files with all links and fonts embedded (.indd), EPS files, Image file formats (.bmp, .tiff, .jpeg, .psd, etc.).
Bleed is the extension of an image or background beyond the trim edge of the paper. It is not possible to print all the way to the edge of the paper sheet. To achieve this effect it is necessary to print a larger area than is required and then trim the paper down. Typically a designer would allow an extra 3mm of bleed to colour and image areas to allow for a little leeway when trimming.
PMS stands for Pantone Matching System. PMS colours are standardised colours listed in the Pantone Colour Matching System. Each Pantone colour has a specific code which printers and manufacturers can refer to in order to ensure colour consistency.
