We aim to offer a uniquely Tasmanian wilderness experience, fostering a connection with nature and promoting eco-friendly tourism.
Charles Marriott purchased land adjacent to the Russell Falls Reserve in 1908 and built a guesthouse on the banks of the Russell (now Tyenna) River. This site is now home to Russell Falls Holiday Cottages.

Nestled on the serene banks of the Tyenna River and resting on the fringes of the untouched beauty of Mount Field National Park, we at Russell Falls Cottages pride ourselves on offering a unique escape into the heart of Tasmania’s wilderness. Our location serves as the perfect setting for our visitors to immerse themselves in an authentic Tasmanian experience, whether it’s the tranquil surroundings you’re after or the adventure and exploration of the local natural wonders.

Our four self-contained, self-catering cottages are ideally geared towards couples and families looking to capture the essence of a wilderness sojourn. These abodes, with their cosy interiors and splendid mountain and forest vistas, marry rustic charm with the comforts of modern amenities. This distinguished blend provides ease and convenience, empowering our guests to create their home away from home. Strategically positioned just a stone's throw away from the marvel that is Russell Falls, our cottages are a hop, skip, and jump from the magnificent natural attractions that the park has to offer.

Excitingly setting the scene for future experiences at Russell Falls Holiday Cottages, we are prepping for the introduction of our luxurious Riverfront camping pods. These six new stunning structures are meticulously handcrafted in Europe from fine-grade natural timbers. They are due to grace our riverbanks from Spring/Summer 2024, proposing an innovative and enchanting way to commune with nature comfortably and stylishly. In the same vein, we are also developing new camping sites, aiming to extend the variety of options available for our different types of explorers.
