About Country Women's Association

AT A GLANCE
  • Bringing women & families together
  • Provide a forum for the voice of all women in QLD
  • Improve conditions & welfare of all families
  • Regular social interaction
  • Encourage development in regional areas
The QCWA means something different to everyone and that’s the way we like it.
With three Regions, twenty Divisions and over two hundred and fifty Branches, the QCWA is the largest and most widespread women’s organisation in Queensland. Since 1922, the QCWA has been about women from all over Queensland coming together for many different reasons, whether it is about meeting new people, making new friends, learning new skills or getting involved in the community

Whatever the reason, it is friendship and the overall desire to help others that has banded the women of this organisation together.

Our vision is simple, for the women of Queensland to come together to support communities, while celebrating their interests and forging friendships in a respectful and caring environment. This is achieved by advocating and providing opportunities for women centering around education, health and community throughout every phase of a woman’s life.

Throughout the years women across Queensland have banded together to share in a history filled with love, care and of course we can’t forget our tea and scones.

Although operating independently, the QCWA is a member of an umbrella organisation called the Country Women’s Association of Australia (CWA of A).

The CWA of A is the largest women’s organisation in Australia with a membership of over 20,000 in over 1,200 branches. Its mission is the same as the QCWA’s which is to improve the lives of women and children, especially those living in regional, rural and remote Australia.
