White fillings refer to a material designed for placement inside teeth to restore decayed, broken or chipped teeth. Made of resin, they're safe, compatible, and adhere to the tooth surface with a bonding agent. We use white fillings for maximum tooth preservation with minimal preparation needed. Our fillings are aesthetic and will match your natural tooth's colour so no one will know. We can also safely replace old amalgam fillings with white fillings.

The joint that connects our jaw to our skull is called the temporomandibular joint (TMJ). It allows the jaw to move freely so we can eat, talk and laugh. Any problems with this joint can result in headaches, migraines, inflammation, muscle spasms, nerve pain and tightness in the face, neck and shoulders. Our qualified practitioners can help you with TMJ-related discomfort and provide many cost-effective solutions.

Our program can be used to treat a wide range of orofacial myofunctional disorders that are common in children, including:

  • Thumb sucking
  • Open mouths
  • Tongue thrusting
  • Improper chewing methods
  • Speech impediments
  • Incorrect tongue position when at rest
  • Tongue ties
  • Mouth breathing
  • Pain in the orofacial region
  • Nail, cheek and lip biting

FAQs

  • How much will it cost?

Our prices are competitive in the market. A consultation for assessment of your teeth will cost $65 with our dentist. Our hygienist will charge $128 for a Scale and Clean appointment for new patients.

  • Can I pay it off?

GCDC offer multiple payment options ranging from Afterpay, Medipay, Humm, and SuperCare. Discuss your eligibility and arrange an application with the help of our treatment plan coordinator. Each payment plan can be customized to accommodate our patients needs, taking the stress out of your financial planning.

  • Will it hurt?

We will do our best to reduce the amount of pain associated with dental treatment. We can provide relaxation therapy for the very nervous patient, at an additional cost. Our practitioners are highly skilled in making you feel relaxed by explaining what is involved at each step of your procedure. Relaxing music or watching a movie can put you at ease to take your mind off the treatment at hand and you can let us take care of you.

  • How do I know I need a filling?

Symptoms commonly associated with dental decay include sensitivity to hot and cold, tenderness when biting on the tooth, and sometimes a generalized discomfort associated with the tooth. Many dental cavities are totally asymptomatic until they become so significant that the entire tooth is threatened. If you are experiencing any symptoms, the best path forward is to have a dental check-up including x-rays if you haven’t had any recently.

  • Should I replace amalgam fillings?

If your amalgam fillings are in good condition, the teeth in which they are located are asymptomatic, and there is no radiographic indication of recurrent decay, then there is no medical advantage to having them replaced. Whilst we do not place amalgam restorations in our clinic, there is little or no valid data suggesting that retaining such restorations is detrimental.

  • What is the best way to whiten my teeth?

The best way to have your teeth bleached is by an experienced professional who is familiar with the biology of the teeth and their supporting structures. There are at-home and in-surgery treatments. Superficial discolouration from food and accumulation of debris can give the impression of badly discoloured teeth. “Whitening” or bleaching treatments are ineffective unless your teeth are scaled and cleaned professionally prior to the bleaching treatment.
