History

Holland Park West gets its name from Mr. Julius Holland who once owned 150 acres of land. In 1882 he sold Holland Estate. The land was divided and became Holland Park. Holland Park West was gazetted in 1972.

Holland Park West has mainly post-World War II wooden homes. Trams once operated down the main street, Logan Road. These were discontinued in April 1969.

There are many schools and parks in Holland Park West. There are plenty of local shops and even a pub nearby!

The suburb belongs to the City of Brisbane council. It’s under the State electorate of Greenslopes. It’s located between the Pacific Motorway and Logan Road.
