Home to over 5,000 people, Hillcrest lies 24km south of Brisbane in Queensland. The iconic Wineglass Water Tower stands at the suburb’s peak.

History

Hillcrest was once part of the neighbouring Browns Plains. It was separated in June 1987. It has remained part of the Logan City Council. Its federal council is Rankin.

Hillcrest has always had a strong community spirit. In 1988, they built a new community centre. The Wineglass Water Tower was built in 1984 and is lit up every night.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

Hillcrest has a wide range of facilities. The Logan West Community Centre has a hall for function. It is also the home of the Logan and Albert Library board. The various water gardens around the Community Centre are perfect for photography. It’s common to see wedding photography here.

There is also an ambulance station and a police station.
