Guanada is a suburb located in the City of Gold Coast. The area is semi-rural, and is 68km from Brisbane and 22km from Southport. It has a population of 798, according to the 2011 census.

History

Guanaba is part of the Gold Coast Inner Hinterland, and extends from Tamborine Mountain to the Coomera River. Its name comes from an Aboriginal expression from the area. Guanaba’s history lies mainly in farming and timber-cutting.

As a semi-rural suburb, Guanaba offers a relaxed pace of lifestyle. With its position near Tamborine National Park, the area has great access to bushwalks and spectacular natural sites. Guanaba’s local reserve, the Guanaba Reserve, as picnic facilities and a local swimming hole. The suburb is home to the Gold Coast Polo and Country Club, as to parts of its land is used for the equestrian community.
