Marule Lime supplies and spreads Ag-Lime to Wide Bay and is the only INDEPENDENT Producer of AG-Lime in the Wide Bay.
Marule Lime is owned & operated by Kevin Scarlett. You will find Marule Lime in the State Forest at Booyal. Kevin mining lease was granted in 1989 & Marule Lime has been supplying Ag-Lime since 1990. Marule Lime blasts & extracts the limestone rock - pulverizing the limestone rock to make agricultural lime from a deposit approximately 1 million tonnes in size.
LIMESTONE - As a soil conditioner
Can help rectify these changes. Lime can be used to neutralise the acidity, it encourages humus to be replenished & it is a good source of calcium. Liming acid soils lowers the toxic levels of aluminium & manganese & increases symbiotic nitrogen fixation in legumes.
Even if all essential elements are present in the soil as a result of fertilizing, it cannot be assumed that they are necessarily available to plants. Availability of minerals to the plant depends on the pH on the pH of the soil.

SPREADING SERVICES
Marule Lime uses a MAN 4WD truck with a spinner spreader mounted on the back which can carry a 7 tone load.
The truck and trailer both have the ability to dump the load or part load if required.
Computer Controlled Spreader
This means that the rate of application can be easily varied throughout the area to be covered. The spreading rate is related to ground speed. This is regulated via the computer system.
Marule Lime uses a self unloading trailer, avoiding the need to drop and reload ag-lime unnecessarily. The system is comprised of a bin with 2 conveyor systems that empty the lime from the trailer into the back of the spreader. The trailer carries a 12 tone load.
