History

Chapel Hill is mostly residential, with lots of residents commuting into Brisbane every day. Many of the houses are interesting architectural designs from the 1960s and 1970s. A number of new housing projects have been started recently. The area has a diverse set of residents, many born in the UK, South Africa, and Malaysia.

Lifestyle and Entertainment

There is one church in Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill Uniting Church. In 1875 it used to be a Methodist chapel, from which the suburb takes its name. Many residents like to go hiking in the protected Mt Coot-tha Reserve. It is possible to reach the summit from these initial routes. There is also a shopping centre a 5 minute drive from the centre.
