We are local Orange company with over 55 years of combined drilling experience working extensively throughout New South Wales.
We provide water bore services for homes, farms, and businesses in NSW. We are 100% family owned and operated. Clive Jones has been drilling since he was 15, and his son Bryan Jones has followed in his footsteps. Bryan's Son, Ethan has since joined the team here. Simultaneously these three generations work together, lifting industry standards to provide you with a service we proudly call our own.

CBJ Drilling Services brings over 55 years of combined experience to the Mudgee region, offering specialised water bore drilling for rural, residential, and commercial clients. As a family-owned operation spanning three generations, we’re focused on delivering dependable groundwater access for farms, vineyards, sporting fields, hospitals, and homes. Each project is approached with care and expertise, ensuring every bore is drilled to meet individual property needs and deliver a long-term, reliable water source.

Our full-service approach begins with free onsite inspections where we evaluate bore placement, site access, underground infrastructure, and terrain. We guide clients through the strict New South Wales licensing process, ensuring full compliance from the outset. Post-drilling, we complete bore development, gravel packing, and yield testing to optimise water flow and stability. For existing systems, we offer thorough bore cleaning and relining services to restore performance and extend operational life without unnecessary replacement.

At CBJ Drilling Services, we operate with advanced tools like the Sullair Combo Compressor, engineered to cut through tough and variable ground conditions common in Mudgee and rural NSW. This technology ensures fast, precise, and efficient drilling. Whether constructing a new bore or restoring an ageing one, we deliver tailored solutions that meet both regulatory standards and practical demands. With a reputation built on referrals and proven results, we remain the go-to drilling contractor for dependable water access throughout the region.

FAQs

  • Why Choose CBJ Drilling Services Over Any Other Company?

We're 100% family-owned and operated company with over 55 years of combined experience in water drilling. This ensures our customers receive only the very best. We are present from the initial consultation to the bore construction completion. We do not send inexperienced drillers bearing our name to complete this very important task. Our word-of-mouth reputation is our best advertisement, and we invite you to ask around before deciding to do business with us.

  • How Long Does it Take to Get My Licence Approved & How Much Will My Licence Be?

Your approval from Water NSW for a stock and domestic bore can take from 1 day to 1 month depending on your individual licencing requirements. Irrigation licences will take longer. Pricing for a stock & domestic bore licence can vary and it is best to check on the Water NSW website . These prices can change without notice. You must supply all the requested information to speed up your application.

  • Why do I Require a Licenced Driller?

In all states and territories, water drillers are required to be licensed. A driller should be able to provide references and produce a licence endorsed to cover the procedures necessary to complete your bore. Being licensed ensures that the driller and the company are accountable for the workmanship. With a licence should come many years of experience in bore construction. Using an unlicensed driller can result in irreparable damage to aquifers and the environment.

  • How Do I Purchase a Pump for My Bore?

Once invoicing is finalised, we will forward your Form A documents to you. These documents are then taken to your preferred supplier who will tailor make the pump to your needs. You can only purchase a pump for your bore once you have these documents.
