Hassall Grove is a suburb located in the Greater Western Sydney area. It’s part of the City of Blacktown, and based roughly 46km west of Sydney’s central business district. Hassall Grove has a population of more than 4,400.

History

Hassall Grove’s origins can be traced back to the 1790s. This was when the Hassall family arrived from England. The Hassalls, including Rowland and his young son Thomas, would go on to be influential landowners and religious figures in the Sydney area. Hassall Grove was named for Rowland, who served as a Church of England minister and a property manager for Samuel Marsden.

Nowadays, Hassall Grove is a residential suburb with excellent amenities. It has two schools, two supermarkets and various specialty outlets. These include Riverstone Florist, the Cake Palace and Sydney Umbrellas. Mittigar Reserve adds scenic beauty to the suburb’s south, and Hannah Reserve is a short trip away in Bidwill.
